Waving not drowning

Dear Me,

It is ok that you are struggling against a tide of anxiety that is reaching tsunami proportions.  This doesn’t mean you are losing the plot; it is just an expected dip in your recovery.

I know you feel disappointed in yourself as you really thought you were fixed and that the drugs do work, you thought you were yourself again.  You are yourself; you will be even more yourself again soon.

Please don’t beat yourself up for wanting to run away and weep, this too shall pass.  The light at the end of the tunnel is not an oncoming train; it’s your daughter with a torch.

Oh I have been there too. I love the torch quote, but honestly things do get better, you have to have the lows to see the highs

Oh I was in that place a week ago. Somehow it's lifted and I feel like I can see again. You will too. Every day is a new beginning. xxx

It goes without saying but I'll say it anyway.........I can empathise and there is nothing wrong with feeling how you do just now. More than half the battle has been won - you've recognised it and written this great post as a reminder / reality check, whatever! Remember always, you are an amazing Mummy, NO ONE could be a better one to Isobel. She loves & adores you.......and I do too!! J xxx
