Nobody told me but I'm telling you...

Nobody told me that being a mum would give me calluses on the TOPS of my feet and on my knees.

Nobody told me that floor boards leave an imprint on your cheek if you fish under the settee for long enough.

Nobody told me that my voice would go up enough octaves to be heard by dogs.

Nobody told me that I would suddenly find camping cool

or that I would contemplate wearing shorts.

And most certainly no one told me that I would do this on my own.

(Nor that sometimes I would incredibly grateful that I am a single mum)

That's the great thing about being a mom...it stretches us out of our comfort zones and we get to find all kinds of things that we love but might not have discovered on our own. :)

I agree sometimes it is great to be a single mum. All you ever hear is bad things but sometimes at 7 at night in the winter when you are both curled under a blanket on the sofa, there is no better feeling in the world.
